The Origin Story

Project Vérité was first sparked in Angola, Africa, in 2019.

Jordan and Mike had known of each other since their Bible college days. After years of pursuing their own paths in the world of cinematography, they reconnected with a shared vision: to travel to Angola and tell the story of Tchincombe Ranch—a place doing remarkable work to provide education, job security, and a Christ-centred community in a remote part of the country.

There was an immediate synergy between them. As they worked together, it became clear that each brought a unique set of skills and ideas to the table. Their strengths balanced each other out, making for a strong collaborative dynamic.

When the Angola project wrapped, they said their goodbyes and returned to different parts of Canada. But the connection stuck. They stayed in touch over the years that followed.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike relocated to Austria while Jordan moved to Istanbul—both continuing to pursue the work they were so passionate about. Even with distance, the dream never fully faded. Now living relatively close in Europe, Mike invited Jordan to visit Austria. That visit rekindled the idea, and the momentum began to build.

Jordan had reached a point where he realized he couldn’t keep up the pace on his own. Mike was ready to take a bigger step into international work. So they began talking seriously about what it might look like to join forces and bring their shared dream to life.

On one of Jordan’s visits, he joined Mike on a local shoot. It reminded them of what it felt like to work together—and that sealed the deal. They started asking the big question:

“What would it take to make this a reality?”

From there, the partnership took shape. They met regularly to talk branding, legal structure, fundraising, marketing strategy, and content development.

In 2024, Jordan officially relocated to Austria, and Project Vérité was born.

“We believe that stories give life. Life to mission. Life to hope. Life to justice. And we believe that the stories that we tell, when shared with the world, have the opportunity to inspire change, transformation, and action across the globe.”

Jordan: Everyone has a story. And if those stories could be told correctly, there’s no telling what change we could initiate. Just look out your front door or down the street. Something is wrong with how we see each other. I think we can fix that. But it’s going to start with sharing our stories so that we can start understanding each other. Learning from each others experiences, whether shared or unique, and then stirring each other on to make the kind of impact that we’ve always wanted to see take shape in the world. The lens through how we each view life is so widely different. As cinematographers, we understand this and are aiming to shed light on how others view the world around them to expand our understanding, help us empathize with each other, and ultimately point a spot light on the love and truth of Christ through it all.”

Mike: “It’s the classic line—‘but I don’t have a story.’ Too often, we believe a story has to be dramatic or revolutionary to matter. But the truth is, everyone has a story worth telling. The real issue is that many people don’t have a voice or the means to share it. These untold stories have the power to inspire, stir hearts, spark conversations, and create meaningful change. At Project Vérité, we believe in amplifying those voices—so together, we can spread truth, inspire action, and bring hope to the world.”
